Description:

Sony Electronics Design Center located in San Diego, CA, is looking for a Design Intern during the summer to assist the senior designers and the design manager, on design projects in brand identity and packaging in the consumer electronics industry. The areas to cover may extend to visual design on other touch points with customers such as store environment or advertisement. The intern will shadow the designers and creative managers in all day to day design activities in order to understand the function of the corporate environment, and the importance of deadlines and time constraints within the corporate world.

To be successful as a Design Intern, you must be organized and detail-oriented, possess strong typography and layout skills, and must be a creative thinker who possesses strong design and production skills. You will assist and take directions from the senior designers and the manager of the Visual Communication Design department.

Interns are considered an integral part of the Sony Design Center's department and as such, their ideas and input are valued.

• Must be currently enrolled in a College or University pursuing a degree in Visual Communication Design, at a 3rd year level or higher
• Knowledge of branding and printing for consumer AV products and digital media is required
• Experience designing for clamshell, blister, carton (flexo and offset) is a plus
• Basic web skills are a plus
• Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe InDesign are required
