The 100th commencement is now part of history

The 100th commencement of San Diego City College was a historic and record breaking celebration of success. Kudos to SDCC Photographer Jamie Netherland who captured these incredible photos to document the event! The commencement speaker was none other than Josh Higgins, San Diego City College Graphic Design Alumni. After serving as the Design Director for the 2012 Obama re-election campaign Josh is now Creative Director at Facebook.

Here is just a part of Josh's inspirational speech that got the crowd cheering... "I know the popular advice in commencement speeches is "follow your hear" but that's only half the story. Your heart is your compass. Let it guide you. It's your drive that will take you places: Figure out what you want to do, then work your tail off to get there".

Legions of dedicated volunteers, faculty and staff made the 100th commencement an unforgettable event. Kudos to Heidi Bunkowske and her team for pulling off this stellar ceremony. After the AIGA San Diego portfolio review our program held a celebration in honor of Josh Higgins and the 2014 SDCC Graphic Design graduates.
